Over at SCI FI Wire they are reporting that when Battlestar Galactica: The Plan is released on DVD, it will contain about a half-hour more content than the 88 minute television version. Great. You really convinced me to watch the thing when it airs in September.
Unless I hear something down the road that convinces me that each one of the 30 minutes added to the DVD release is just mindless fluff, I cannot see why I won’t just watch the DVD. Maybe I am in the minority, but in this age of DVRs and television shows being released on the Internet and DVD within days of the original broadcast…why watch TV on the networks’ schedules anymore?
Yes, I know that “more” is not always “better.” But I always believe that the extras found on DVDs or “Director’s Cuts” were originally in there for a reason, and most of the time I like them. And maybe, just maybe, the 30 minutes will be of Tricia Helfer and Grace Park playing volleyball in their underwear.
