Don’t write off Human Target so fast. We saw the panel for it at SDCC, where they showed the pilot ep (the whole thing!). It’s based on a comic from the 70′s, but it’s description doesn’t do it justice. It’s not about a guy how becomes the person he’s protecting, but someone who’s always close to the person, a chauffeur or PA. And it has Emerson from Pushing Daisies in it. Very good pilot, lots of potential. Check it out, definitely.
Vampire Diraries; same set up as above (the sacrifices we make to see Mythbusters in person). It’s Dark Shadows with lots of teen angst. Based on book series from the 90′s, and is only getting made now because of Twilight’s popularity. Avoid it at all costs.

Thanks for the tip on “Human Target.” I’m sure it will find its way into my DVR lineup!
