EW is reporting that Bryan Singer will produce and direct an upcoming theatrical Battlestar Galactica movie.
Before you get too excited, realize that this is NOT the same BSG that recently wrapped on SyFy. Rather it is another re-imagined take on the 70′s series.

In this “re-imagining” of the original series, Bryan Singer intends to make the Colonies a matriarchal take on Amazonian culture. All the leads will be played by women, with a few males in support roles. The Cylons are a result of the Colonial drive to eliminate the need for men– they were created to be a slave race, but finally revolted when they collectively achieved a group conscience. Early reports indicate that “Muffet” will appear in this one, albeit as a robotic take on a cross between a grizzly bear and a velociraptor, acting as a bodyguard for Queen Adama’s daughter (the heir to the Colonies).
OK, I’m making all this up. But who knows what they will come up with…
