Don’t get too excited when you boot your xbox 360 next time and see it update.
The update paves the way for some exciting new features coming this year (facebook, twitter, last.fm) but according to Larry Hyrb AKA Major Nelson, the new update doesn’t add any features now.
The real news here is that Microsoft didn’t deliver any specifics on when the features will roll out. Up to this point they have only said that they would be coming this year.
Nothing to see here. Move along.

Many are saying after updating they cannot reconnect to Xbox live, so I may wait before powering my machine up.

Now it sounds like there was a Xbox Live outage at the same time….unfortunate coincidence.
