Are You Kidding Me?

September 24th, 2009

This makes no sense to me at all.

Are people supposed to be so excited about Windows 7 that they will be hosting parties for it?  WTF?  Anyone care to explain this to me?

UPDATE:  I now see.  Microsoft is going to sponsor thousands of Tupperware party type events, and this is the intro video for those hosts.   I guess that makes some kind of sense.  Still lame.

How about a Vista party where Microsoft sends one engineer at a time that we can beat the crap out of ?

Sorry, just venting . I have this notebook that I spent a fortune on with Vista installed and needless to say, my ability to curse at somethinghas been greatly increased :)

I have a machine that I’m currently running Windows 7 on, and it is an improvement on Vista for sure.

But at the end of the day the reason a lot of people don’t like MS operating systems has more to do with the 3rd party stuff they put on there. Stuff like Device drivers, and programs.

Often times this 3rd party stuff will load bunch of extra crap not needed, and in the end it screws it all to hell.

So I’m not sure how much the new OS will help with any of that…

And of course none of what I said above even touches the spyware/adware/mallware problems that Windows is at risk for.

FWIW, I generally use Ubuntu for non work stuff.
