The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that only four episodes of highly anticipated “V: The Series” will be aired this year, with the other eight episodes of the first season to be aired in the spring of 2010.
The article speculates as to what may be up. I don’t think the announcement after yesterday’s better-than-expected debut of “Flash Forward” is a coincidence and maybe ABC doesn’t want to shoot its sci-fi load all at once. It’s also worthy to note that with just over a month until the debut, only three episodes (including the pilot) are in the can. ABC is trying to squash rumors of trouble on the set, but the FX heavy previews have raised expectations, and rumors are causing worries among excited future fans.

I dont think they make television shows like they used to. Back when I was younger, it seems like programs were more family or comedy based, it just doesn’t seem the same anymore.
