The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Fox is committed to air the entire 13 episodes of Dollhouse season 2 that it has ordered.

Despite this season’s low ratings, which are even worse than last year’s sucktastic results, Fox apparently plans to air what they have paid for.  The DVR viewers shot the season premiere’s numbers up 50%, which must carry some weight with the Fox brass.

Joss Whedon fans may have gotten a last minute reprieve, because Dollhouse sure looked like a dead man walking.

But don’t get too excited just yet.  Whedon sure isn’t.  It sounds like he is planning on the 13th episode to provide some degree of closure.  He must be getting pretty good at handling his shows getting axed.  Firefly fans will recall that Whedon even had a funeral for that show in one of the last episodes.

This latest news from Fox does provide hope for fans that this show won’t need Joss’ talent in that area just yet.
