The Sci-Guys take on the Portland Comic Book Show en force, and employ the skills of the next-gen Sci-Guys for the full (?) experience. This one-day show packs quite a bit of sweet into a well-packed space. As posted earlier, the Sci-Guys were especially interested in seeing the representatives from the Cloud City Garrison in full regalia. The dozen or so members there really impressed (see pictures below).
The mini Sci-Guys were mostly focused on getting good toys, and between the over-priced hard-plastic protected Star Wars figures, there were bargains to be found in boxes and bins slyly placed under display tables (where the Force is strong with little dudes under four feet tall). The range of prices was just as real with other toys, collectibles, comics, etc., making this event a good one to spend a lot, or spend a little and still come away satisfied. None of the independent comic book panels jumped out at us enough to join in, but that aspect of the event was certainly a significant part of the day for a number of participants.
I have a feeling this will be a yearly Sci-Guy event, though at least this Sci-Guy could have used an hour on his own to explore tables his mini brethren wasn’t as interested in.

As fun as it was to have my son with me, I also would have enjoyed some “alone time” to peruse the tables. Maybe next year I’ll have Sci-Mom come pick him up early…

We are of the same mind, Mike. I didn’t get to look at a single comic, which that Jonah Hex picture sadly reminds me.
