Nothing says “We don’t think we’re gonna make it” more than releasing part of your season on DVD before the entire season even airs.

Since you can still watch all of this online, I can’t expect sales will be good, but I suspect the producers must feel that their chances for sales are better now then after the show gets axed at the end of the season.
