It must be an awful feeling at ABC… your hit show “Lost” is posting improved ratings as it nears the finish line. But your fancy new show “V” just isn’t living up to expectations. After taking four months off, “V” returned to US television last Tuesday night. If you watched “Lost,” you had to suffer through that danged “V” countdown timer in the lower corner of your screen. Maybe that is why 27% of “Lost” viewers changed channels after their show ended and did NOT watch “V.”
Nielsen numbers show that “V” posted a 4.5 rating / 8 share for the return show. It managed to beat “Parenthood” on NBC, but lost to a repeat episode of “The Good Wife” over on CBS. These ratings were about 20% lower than “V” was getting before it went on hiatus last year, and a full 47% lower than ratings for the premier.
Anna better start eating hamsters, Valerie better have her little V-baby, and Lisa better run around in her underwear again… “V” needs something to boost the ratings!

There is no way the ratings are going up after last week’s episode.
