I don’t want to be chicken little here, but I have a feeling some bad stuff is going down.

Check your Netflix watch instant queue. Look for any TV series on there. Almost all of them in my queue are now showing “coming soon”. Just yesterday I tested an episode of Lost on my iPad’s netflix app. Today? NOT AVAILABLE.

I suspect that the companies controlling this content (ABC, NBC, FOX) have pulled the content to make way for the rumored new Hulu pay service, which will probably be announced for the XBOX at E3 next week.

I hope this is just a glitch or a blip on the RADAR, maybe it is just me.  But if not, then there are not two ways about it. This is a disaster for Netflix. I boo thee.

EDIT: Maybe it isn’t the end of the world: netflixhelps twitter feed says they are working on it. AND now confirm it is NOT a content issue, but a technical one. Whew…

UPDATE: Things appear to be back to normal. Crisis averted. BUT FOR HOW LONG?

@SciGuys It’s purely a technical issue, not a content issue. Expect it to be fixed quickly.

This better be true. Almost all my TV shows are now “coming soon”.

Great… I had planned on a “Dexter” marathon today. Guess I’ll have to interact with people instead.

As you’ve pointed out Netflix has already addressed this. It was clearly a technical issue as every multi-disc television series was also relegated to “coming soon” status on my disc queue (but not single disc television). Any sort of Hulu premium service would have no impact on that. Not to mention that fact that in my case most of the television wasn’t produced by ABC, NBC or Fox.

Fixed…but now all the TV shows are at the end of my queue. grrr!
