If you read our forums, you probably know Amy Adams has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman film in the role of Lois Lane. I recently watched “The Fighter” again and have to admit that Ms. Adams certainly can play a headstrong, assertive character. And as the accompanying photograph suggests, she can certainly pull off high glamour! (Gotta love the Rita Hayworth tribute… to bad Hayworth never made any sci-fi movies.)
Lois Lane has always been portrayed with dark hair, so I’m not sure if Ms. Adams will be keeping her red locks for the role. Snyder seems to suggest he is trying to bring a new take to the franchise, so maybe we will be spared a bad dye-job?
Ms. Adams received an Oscar nomination for her last role in “The Fighter.” She should have two movies coming out later this year– “On the Road” and a Muppets movie. “On the Road” is based upon the book by Jack Kerouac and co-stars Viggo Mortensen (hmmm… Lois and Zod?). Ms. Adams recently gave birth to a daughter, so I can only explain her interest in making a Muppet movie as a combination “paycheck and something for my kids to watch later” move. Unless she knows something I do not and will somehow gather her fourth Academy Award nomination for her screen time with Kermit and Fozzie Bear…
