Rabid fans of Call of Duty Black Ops have four more maps and another zombie killing environment to buy! Annihilation is the third expansion release for Black Ops. Priced at about $15 (1200 Microsoft points), folks like me have now forked over almost as much money for the three expansions as we paid for the initial game.
This map pack includes “Silo” (multi-level nuclear silo), “Hazard” (a very long map of a golf course resort), “Hanger 18″ (a map located at Area 51 skunkworks, complete with alien autopsy) and “Drive-In” (a drive in movie theater). The zombies expansion is called “Shangri La” and seems to be a jungle themed zombie killing frenzy. I’ve played each of the new maps, but haven’t tried the zombies yet. Initital impressions… the maps are good, but I still can’t believe I fork over this kind of money for them. I guess map expansions have become like HP ink… the printer really doesn’t cost much in the long run, and once they have you addicted the ink makes them all the money.
Hopefully Sci-Guy-Jim and I will have a chance to play some on the new maps and report back at our next Podcast, which should be on July 5th!
