Great Transformers smackdown. I’ve not seen it, and thanks to the panning it’s received won’t until it’s out on VHS or something. John’s awesome when he’s laying into something.
When Jim asked “Why is it so popular?”, I wonder if it basically break down to the core concept rather than the execution. And the really interesting thing is going to be, in three or four years someone else is going to have a crack at this franchise, and all they have to do is make a film that is ‘competent’ (such a low bar) so they can’t possibly go wrong. And Mike such probably write the script, since he clearly put more thought into these films than the people who made them did.
