He dosent get points for eliquence or clarity of thought but he has a point. Trek has, in my eyes, been the more sophisticated and thoughtful of both franchises. Star Wars is like dessert, sweet and enjoyable but too much will too much your teeth. Its Trek that delivers the real nurishment, its the meat & potatos of Sci -Fi
Star Trek has always been much more about the characters. Star Wars is about Archetypes. Good characters can sell a lot of crap plots, crap effects, (even sometimes crap acting).
Archetypes can be very useful in telling an epic story, but have a hard time carrying less a compelling tale.
Star Trek = Characters and Sci-Fi
Star Wars = Mythological “good vs evil” struggle and action.
They are very different in scope. “better than, worse than” IMO is just personal taste.
