I’ve come to unabashedly love Young Justice! When I drop in on other superhero shows on HUB and Disney DX, I can’t watch them for long because YJ has become the new high bar. I want more shows like this! Not to spoil Jim, but I really didn’t see the end of that last new episode coming. Yowza!
Falling Skies – “Less hopeful”?!! How much more “less hopeful” can it get??? This show is in no way light or uplifting; not in the first season, and not now. I think part of the reason I can’t connect to it is because of how relentlessly dark it is. And it’s not dark in a SUPER DARK way, but instead is only mildly dark, which means I can’t even get into how awful or extreme things get for the characters. I feel a lot of “meh” with this show, but, yes, we watch it because it has great production values and is in the wheelhouse. It needs to find some funny or go full-tilt boogie into grim and gritty.
