If you can’t see the satire in this film, you’re not paying attention. It’s implicit not explicit and satire doesn’t need to be ‘funny’ or OTT as it is played in RoboCop. There’s actually not much slo-mo in the film, it’s all at the beginning and the one scene at the end.

Joe, I have to agree. I think the 3D messed with Jim’s head. I thought the Slo-Mo was effective and not overdone. I think the final slo-mo scene had a very surprising and satisfying finish, so whether it was 90 seconds or not didn’t make a difference. I am not sure how satirical the movie is, but I never felt like it was taking itself too seriously. It is a self-encapsulated joyride which I would get on again, with pleasure. Comparing the hard R violence here with the very PG “Lockdown,” or whatever that POS was called, is impossible. I’d watch Dredd all day before watching that again.

Thank you, John, for continuing to mention how painfully long the Slurpee Update is – even if I do enjoy the snickering. ~_^ Seriously, I do understand how hard it is to give up a long-standing tradition shared with friends, John. The token almost made me sniffle, nice, Scott! And hang in there, Mike! Resist the ‘pee!

“Rollerball” is a SciFi adventure classic??

How sad is it that I knew the year from the Bionic proposal alone?

Hello, I’m still watching and ADORING Haven!! If you haven’t done this in a later show already, could someone find out what the ratings are? I’ve been trying to find out, but I haven’t found a clear listing of how Haven’s been doing. It makes me seriously happy, but I know SciFi is draconian with its older shows; “older” being more than 3 seasons at SciFi. :P

    Thanks, Guys! <3 <3

    love, lore
