Sci-Guy-Jim brought up this classic in a previous comment… I think you could remake this one as a true horror movie and have some fun with it.  Sorry the audio is so bad…

C’mon… admit it!  You miss this show!  An absolutely cheesetacular premise that is BEGGING for a remake!
